Category tags

Make Out Loud codingdesign

After bashing around for a while, I have tested the earthly limits of my dev skills and put category tags in place.

As I mentioned last time, I was thinking hard about skills vs. projects. I made a rough diagram of what this feels like, and then set off to make a complicated whole category infrastructure.

I quickly realized that this was handily accomplished by just treating skills like tags…and if some posts just float in a goo of one-offs (or, I create a one-off collection) that’s just fine.

This site is still built in a way that slightly confuses me, but I might just try to do it the wrong way and then enlist the help of a friend to fix it. Usually this has been how I’ve worked, and it’s a good chance to chat with someone real.

But! You’ll notice some hammered in category pages now. Quite exciting that they work, even if it’s a little spaghetti behind closed doors.

No idea how to programmatically list out the categories on the front page, so they’re hard coded, too. Wheee.
